General Writing: Participles

18.Combine each pair of sentences below into one sentence by using an -ed participle and omitting repeated words. Use a comma or commas to set off the -ed participle phrase from the rest of the sentences.

Example:
(a) Tim woke up with a start.
(b) He was troubled by a dream.

Combination:

Troubled by a dream, Tim woke up with a start.
or Tim, troubled by a dream, woke up with a start.
